Children’s Hospice South West provides emergency and planned respite care for life-limited children across the South West and support to their families. Through its two children’s hospices – Little Bridge House in North Devon and Charlton Farm in Somerset – the charity aims to create a home from home and help make the most of short and precious lives.
The time has now come to extend this special service and reach out to more children and families. The Precious Lives Appeal was launched to raise funds to build a third hospice in Cornwall. The much needed hospice will help bring the charity’s service nearer to families in Cornwall and Plymouth and provide more choice for families across the South West with children who are not expected to reach adulthood. “Little Harbour” will be Cornwall’s first children’s hospice and building work has recently commenced.
An estimated £5 million is needed to build the new hospice and the appeal currently stands at £3.5 million.
